Creative MovementCreative movement is a class tailored to our 3 and 4 year old tiny dancers. This class emphasizes the creative art of dance while providing an exciting new learning environment. Dancers will be introduced to both ballet and tap. Skills learned are carried beyond the dance classes include communication skills, memory development, and social involvement. Creative Movement class will perform 1 routine in the spring performance.

Pre-Dance

BalletBallet classes are offered from a beginner level through an advanced level. Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre and center floor work, along with across the floor combinations. Beginner classes introducen vocabulary, proper alignment, and classical ballet technique along with strength & coordination. Advanced classes include adagio and allegro work, and combinations using balance, strength, and style. In addition, Pointe is offered. All students are urged to study ballet, as it is the foundation of all other dance styles and facilitates further success in these disciplines. All dancers in the academy classes must participate in this class. TAP is a style involving rhythm, dynamics, and varying clear tap sounds. Tappers will have a graduated warm-up to loosen their ankles and knees for proper execution of skills, across the floor progressions and have center floor work to learn and perfect new skills.

JazzJAZZ classes are fun and energetic. They include such elements as kicks, leaps, turns, splits, and isolations. Classes include stretch and strengthening exercises, floor work, and across the floor progressions in addition to a center floor combinations. All students in the academy classes must participate in this class.
HIP HOP classes combine street dance with funk and jazz, similar to what you would see in televised dance performances or music videos. Students will learn the importance of isolations and dynamics to execute pop-and-lock and funk movements. |
LyricalLYRICAL is a style of dance that uses the emotion and mood of the music to elicit movements from the dancers. Students have a warm up focusing in core strength, flexibility, and movement of the back. The class includes floor work, progressions, and center combinations.

Acro-GymnaticsACRO-GYMNASTICS teaches flexibility, and tumbling while strengthening the body. Gymnastics skills include but are not limited to walkovers, limbers, handsprings, chest rolls, cartwheels/round offs, handstands, and more.

Leaps and TurnsLEAPS & TURNS is a technique class that is dedicating to learning, improving, and perfecting technique in jumps, kicks, turns, etc. Stretch and strengthening is also combined to improve dancers’ power. All students in the academy classes must participate in this class.
